However, Merlin's natural gifts led to complacency. He abandoned his efforts to hone his craft and neglected his duties to the council, choosing instead to indulge in decadent excess. This wayward path could not sustain, and eventually, a council member located him, persuading him to embark on a path more befitting his heritage. While Merlin may start to make amends, his yearnings for romance and adventures are far from quenched.
